Memo, three months old, was found on a pile of rocks today, dead. He has been a constant companion to (my roommate) Miss Claudia and had a carefree spirit about him. Memo's favorite hobbies included swimming and star gazing...though he rarely had the opportunity to see stars. He is survived by Claudia, Al Capone (a leopard gecko) and Earnest Amorsito (an Indonesian white tree frog...who is not white usually...he changes colors.) Memo's glass bowl will be inherited by Memo's cousin.
Services today included short words of sympathy (by phone) from Salvador (also a beta fish pet owner), Ray (an ellusive theology major), and Walter (who will never have the opportunity to meet the remarkable Memo). Justin (campus student chaplain) conducted the official services as the freedom theme from Braveheart soothed the background.
Memo has been released to that great ocean in the sky via the girls' dorm toilet plumbing. Fare thee well our beloved friend. May you flush in peace.

I loved Memo like my own father and he will be missed greatly. Memo was truly great - the kind of fish that all fish should aspire to be...
Sorry I was unable to make it to the ceremony :( Give Claudia my regards, please.
