so, thanks to the excellent suggestions, i've decided to........
be a professional get-away driver!
it's not exactly as glamourous as it seems. with oil prices starting to go up, terrorism alerts high and the presidential bid coming right around the corner, i'm thinking when the rioting starts i'll drive a sweet bike...oh yeah--bi-cyc-le---and yell "get away, get away!" to protect the Dunkin Donuts that of course will need to guarding from the angry, and hungry, mobs.
what ya think?
sadly, it reminds me of "War Tapes," a documentary filmed by three soldiers during their time in Iraq. They were members of the National Guard and assigned duty driving guard for a food company run by Dick Cheney. A food company that is monopolizing everything the army buys, and costing them $28 a plate. A PLATE!! so, if a soldier wants to keep his food warm and grabs another plate to cover his food, that equals $56.....way to display capitalism at its finest Mr. Vice President.

Where is this out at???? Is it on dvd? I am intregued.
Can I ride shotgun...? aka sit on the handle-bars with a BB-gun firing at anyone who gets too close. I think I'd be good at that. I could also cook back at the hideout.
I have been seeing a lot of the capitalist ethos embedded in our society lately. Can't remember any specific examples at the moment, but it normally comes up in conversation with people. Like the other night I was talking about philosopical anarchy and what the founding principles were. Someone asked me how it would actually be able to function. All I could say was that there would have to be a massive shift away from the Capitalist mindset that our society holds.
I think that's a major issue: Capitalism blinds us to other possibilities, we can't see how any other system could work from inside a capitalist system.
In the immortal words of a Melbourne street artist (aka some graffiti I saw on the train in Melbourne) "CAPITALISM IS CANNIBALISM"
Hey! I saw that graffiti too... Just near Hawthorn or something like that.
totally interesting! i'm all in favor of benefiting society and being able to support yourself, but using capitalism as a knife to stab others and get what you want, seems like stabbing a beggar woman so you can grab her $2 to get a burger.
[editor's note: people are not flooding to the food trucks and begging for food or anything. the military just guards them, because they are perfect targets. so they have to guard the company that jacks them.]
The film was playing at our independent movie theater. Check out the "War Tapes" link to get to its home page for more info.
