Operation Break Through

So my job is the coolest ever. Yeah, I've got crappy days where I feel like I'm mesmerized by a blaring screen and typing through oatmeal, but what other job pays for me to hang out with a bunch of kids and have an absolute blast? Other than kids' camp....

So I covered an event where kids from eight different shelters in the city area were given a day train ride, got to meet Santa and got NICE gifts. The kids were loving the attention from the volunteers and having so much fun.

I researched one of the shelters. This organization, Operation Break Through is AMAZING. Started as an after-school daycare for inner city poverty level mothers by two nuns, this organization regularly takes care of 500-600 children a day. If you're looking for inspiration, check it out.
