from California to Nebraska in 48 hours.

So, the last couple days has been crazy. Let me explain.

Sunday 2:30 p.m.
Over the hand-held radio while I wait for my girls to show up for another week of camp in California, I receive a message that a "Travis" called and that it's urgent that I call him back.
Me, thinking this was a guy I went on a date with a couple times and now never talk to, was extremely worried that one of our mutual friends might be in terrible trouble to have tracked me down. I mean, I can barely keep track of every place I go, why would someone else go through all the headaches?
So I borrow a car and dash up to the office, get the phone number and call "Travis," only to--thankfully--realize it was a different person entirely. This was ASB President Travis who said, "Becky, we have a position avialable working with ASB." The Social VP had gotten an internship with ADRA working in Sir Lanka. Now they were questioning me. "Nope, I hadn't set her up for the interview with ADRA," I said as they interogated me. Just kidding. I admitted to everything. ;P
['serious' mode again] So I was interviewed the next morning, and offered the job that evening. Monday. The only hitch: I'd have to be in Nebraska preferrably by Tues evening or Wed. morning (i.e. ASAP).
I told Cody, my friend the boys' director, about the awesome job opportunity. His face grew serious and more disturbed. "Becky," he said, "there's no way. We have plenty of guy staff this week, but we have 80 girl campers. There's no female staff available to watch your campers. There's no way."
But I knew something Cody didn't. I had talked to God and told Him, "I don't know if this is just what I want to do or if this is what You want me to do too. So if You want it to work out, You've got to make it happen. I can't."
Six hours later, I'd talked to my parents, Cowboy director and staff, Camp directors and at the last moment, a woman visiting for the week said she could volunteer a couple days. Everything had fallen into place. I left for Oregon at 9 a.m. the next day, Tues.
I got to spend 12 hours at come, from the time Mum and Dad picked me up from the airport, until Dad and I left for the airport at 3:30 in the morning. I had exchanged "camp" stuff for "probably need at school" stuff. I gotten to eat a DQ blizzard and cuddle with Mum and Dad on the couch while watching "House." Life was in high speed, but enjoyable.

I arrived in Lincoln about 2 p.m. Wed evening and arrived just in time for an ASB meeting. I've been running and barely catching up on what exactly I'm supposed to be doing ever since.

I discovered an old friend--Scheffler--is back! And I just briefly saw Joni today. I'm very excited and don't know what I'm doing. But I do know this: God is strength and will give me peace through the caos.

Love to all,
Becky
