Yay! I'm so glad you guys are interested in Pompei too, because really, it's a place I'm totally psyched about right now. :)
Photo 1) There's many frescos (wall paintings like the first pic above) there. Pompei's actually know for its erotic frescos...not like the one above....but most sexual frescos being found in the brothel. Apparently Pompei was not only the ancient "Hollywood," but also the place for the cheapest sex.
Photo 2) The statue above is the final moments of an actual person. That's him, right as he died. Scary, yeah? There was a dog mold as well with its legs in the air and contorted...I wish I'd gotten a picture of that as well. I didn't realize it was real at first.
Photo 3) My favorite room in Pompei...just cause it looks so cool.
Photo 4) The random wandering dogs found in Pompei actually add something. They seem to be essential to Pompei life from the very beginning. And wonderful photo material.
p.s. In other notes, today we visited the Uffizi Museum and saw the Birth of Venus and Primavera (spring). They're both like 6.5 feet tall and 10 feet wide. Super cool to see.
