An update on the wonderful world of Becky!
So I love "the wonderful world of" sound. Annnyway, to address the issue of popular demand, "how did the concert go??"
...well. So much better than I thought. I practiced once...and it was painful and long and frustrating. And I only practiced two very short songs. It was then I realized I'd do much better faking the songs (following the alto beside me) than trying to memorize the notes for a dozen songs in one week. So I did. :) Apparently most of the choir members didn't know the words to all the songs either (a third of the songs were in German. Go Bach.), so I felt a lot better and somehow it all sounded pretty well.
Thank goodness all choirs have pretty much the same issues (move closer together, stand up straight, this group sing louder, this group sing softer, crescendo, watch the director for the cue..), and since the director can't chew you out while everyone's singing, she relies on eye contact and body language to tell the choir to make adjustments. That language is universal.
We sang in a cute little Catholic Church, and the next day sang there again at a packed service. Unlike the Saturday night performance were we were the show, on Sunday we were just transition music, but the service was very special (and incense filled). A bishop was conducting the service, so everyone turned up, and they unveiled a huge statue of Jesus on the cross. The statue was beautiful, but traditional. I mean only that the figure was everything we take for granted--nails in the middle of the hands, instead of the wrists (which is more likely historically accurate), and the face being the same European face we've grown up with in all the pictures. The one that doesn't look Arab or with any hair out of place (even though He's just gone through around 18 hours of hell).
In other news: I stayed up with my roommate all night watching "Firefly," ate chocolate yumminess the next night while watching "The Godfather" for Luca's birthday, finally went to sleep and woke up this morning with a very sore throat. I'm now claiming sickness and hoping for ages of sleep now that the weekend has arrived. :)

The Godfather while in Italy? Nice... Was reading an article in marie clare over the weekend about a mafia wife who's recently testified against her family, etc.
Guess the lesson from that was don't marry into the mafia. Even if the guys are hot.
Good to hear the performances went well :D
lol, thanks for the advice. i was saddened. i'm not surrounded by many italian men. mostly romanians actually. keep looking for that chisseled mafia man and he keeps assisinating my hopes. ;)
Oh no! You'll have to go out hunting for them!
Or maybe there are mafia dating sites or something you could use? MafiaMatch.com or HitOnYou.com might be great names for the sites.
If all else fails, what about hot Romanian men?
LOL!, HitOnYou.com is brilliant! If someone hasn't created that site, they should, right now. :)
Sadly I can barely communicate with anyone (including the Americans), so I'm thinking single is the way to go until Christmas at least. I know communication isn't that big of a deal with hot foreigners, but I'm thinking of turning over a new leaf and being good for awhile. :) We'll see how that goes...
What about you girly? You pick up while in Germany? I had taken it for granted that you would...big macho men everywhere. :)
*lol* It could double as a matchmaking site AND a hitman site. Romance isn't dead. Just yet.
Single can be a good thing. It means you're free to flirt with everyone! Hurrah! Good luck with being good. Sometimes it's easier than others.
Nope, wasn't in Germany for all that long anyway. But Tobi's oldest brother was HOT. I had a hard time not to salivate somewhat. But yeah, the communication thing is a little bit of a challenge. You sort of get shy with what you can say in the other language and just want to sound like you can actually speak/communicate, so everything else sort of gets forgotten *lol*
Adele, you're last line said it all perfectly. :)
