Today, I have launched the "Who Owns the Media--a look at the U.S. and Italy" blog. I am so incredibly excited, it's really kinda ridiculous. [sigh. Yes, I'm a nerd. Yes, yes, get over it.]
This is the subject of my last and final major report, an independent research project as part of my Communication undergrad program. I was supposed to write 25-pages, but I'm currently petitioning to write a research blog instead---it's more interactive, I get quicker feedback from my adviser, and it has more of a "take the reader on a journey as I'm learning" feel. Plus you get to share video, audio clips and direct links to awesome Web sites that just have to be seen to be believed.
So if you're curious, check it out: discover that almost everything you see on TV, film, magazines, newspapers and books is controlled by only a handful of companies. We'll talk about the GOOD and the BAD about this situation. Then we'll check out the Italian media situation (think ONE person in control of 90 percent of things you see on TV) and we'll compare notes.
Feel free to leave comments too (...though it's obvious you despise doing that on THIS blog so...), just make sure to keep all comments extra-kosher. Graders might be reading. (Hopefully! I'm still waiting on approval...)
