Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - Trailer

Yes, this is incredibly cheesy...but it's also incredibly fun. :)

From the warped genius of Joss Whedon who brought you Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Angel, comes the story of a wannabe evil genius, the vain-for-a-good-reason hero and the laundromat girl who has humble dreams of changing the world.

Whedon's inspiration hit when the Hollywood Writer's Strike was getting under way. He wanted to show writers that they could survive, they could do excellent work, they could even make money---all without the big companies if they had to. This idea spawned, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog," a 40 minute made-for-Internet movie that's become an instant hit (it was even mentioned on NPR today!). On top of that, you can watch the movie for FREE...depending on how dedicated of a reader you are to this site...

For a limited time only (think tomorrow), the film will be shown on www.drhorrible.com's site. The first installment, Act 1, was posted Tuesday (with approximately 1,000 viewers a minute, causing the site to crash....after some hours, the problem was resolved); Act 2 was posted Thursday, and the final installment is set to arrive Saturday (i.e. tomorrow).

The entire movie will be available until midnight and then it magically disappears and the only fix you'll be able to get is buying it from iTunes at $1.99 per installment, or the entire movie for $3.99. But even then, nothing is forever. According to TV Week, iTunes promises to carry the film only until July 29.

But if you like the show, buy it. Whedon's hoping to actually pay his cast and crew.
