Public Display of Self-Evaluation on My 24th Birthday

Top 5 Things that are Freaking Me Out

1) My future. There's so many things I want to do with my life and I've always had this prodigy complex where, even though I am officially 24 years old, I have this idea that I am brilliant and will be the absolute best at whatever profession I choose. There's just so many professions that I'd love to dedicate my life to. Politics, film, journalism, kids, traveling all over the world on humanitarian projects.

2) Nothing's for certain. I've loved that about my life. But lately I've only been semi-certainty a week at a time. An outline of a plan for year at a time would be fabulous.

3) The U.S. economic situation seems like great Aunt Margaret jerking open the window curtains at 7 a.m. on a summer Sunday morning: it reveals a glaring situation that cannot mean anything good.

4) Politics. Right now I'm pretty hopeful that either presidential candidate is going to be better than our current government. Both sides realize that the biggest moving factor for voters is fact #1: the current government system has not been listening to its people. Hopefully we can maintain the pressure on the government enough that no matter who takes the Oval Office will keep most of his promises for us.

5) I wanna just go have fun. But I can't. I haven't made enough results yet. I'm sure there's a lot of psycho-analysis that can go into that, but let's be honest. Everyone feels better knowing he/she's accomplishing something of value.

5 Things I am Profoundly Grateful For

1) A mother who supports me unquestioningly, has limitless belief in me and asks me the tough questions to keep me motivated.

2) A family that cares about each other like crazy---no matter how far away we are.

3) Friends that still love me, even when I haven't called for months on end.

4) Cookie dough. Oh baby.

5) Three different opportunities to take care of kids on a regular basis. It's my favorite excuse for imagination and guiltless goofing off.

6) BONUS: Fun exercise program at a fitness center. So excited!

7) BONUS' BONUS: Radio Theatre, Chronicles of Narnia. The best way to accomplish a multitude of things while having fun.
