W. Trailer contest

This is a brilliant idea for an interactive contest.

Lionsgate provides numerous clips from the film, clips from actual George W. Bush footage, music selection, transition affects, photos, AND the ability to put them altogether without having the Final Cut Pro film editing program on your computer.

Check out www.youtube.com/WtheFilm to together your own trailer for the movie. The contest began today and continues until the film premiers in the U.S., October 17. (Again the PR person on this is a genius.)

Only one winner will be chosen. The grand prize includes a new laptop, Final Cut Pro and a video camera. Only applicants in the U.S. who are at least 18 years old are eligible.

The idea is hands-down brilliant promotion for the film. Making the trailer however, creates a fine balance between promoting a movie you haven't seen, propaganda and doing the most professional work possible to get the prize.
