Craig's List of Everything and Almost Somethings

I am amused. Everyone has a closet romantic yelling to let them out. Which you really should...it's stuffy in there.

But anyway, I became amused while browsing around Craig's List for furniture. How incredibly helpful Craig's List is! and why hadn't I discovered this before? So I checked out what other bulletins Craig hosts: motorcycles, writing gigs, etc.

But my favorite bulletin happened to be something random, called, "Missed Connections," which pretty much means you saw this incredibly hot guy/girl in the grocery store/coffee shop and you've been kicking yourself all day for not introducing yourself or trying to come up with small talk. So in the faint glimmer of hope you leave a message on Craig's List under "Missed Connections" and if they happen to see it (or I suppose someone else does who's just as interesting), then you get an e-mail back. It's an interesting idea and very "missed opportunity for a Hollywood moment" while at the same time having the potential to be "scary Sam met harry Suzy."

Oh well. I was amused and had to share. Though, I doubt that I'd have the guts to post a love inquiry online in the slight hope that a cute coffee man would find it. Refrequent the coffee place people! Just stare and drool for awhile, they'll catch on and probably drop a napkin in your general direction.

I suppose we all have missed opportunities. And while my closet romantic enjoyed the readings, don't save yours for Craig's List. Grab your nerve ladies and gentlemen! Act like an idiot and start a conversation. You can do it!
